Annoy the veg
Okay, okay, I know it's four years old. But I live in a broadcasting shadow in which I get only two television channels (both in Spanish), and until cable providers let me choose the channels I receive and price the service accordingly, I refuse to pay for cable television. Sometimes I'm in a hotel room and near a TV; within a half-hour of watching the dreck playing on the device I don't regret my avoidance of television.
But I miss some fun things, obviously. Last night my friend Sara told me about Posh Nosh, yet another of those BBC imports that shows up on US public television as a sort of carbon offset for the polluting garbage on the other channels. I was charmed by her description of it, even before discovering the always-watchable Richard E. Grant plays one of the food snobs. Anyway, thanks to the episode-stuffed tubes of the interweb, I'm now among its fans.
All this on a week with a tight deadline and no room for goofing off. Damn you, YouTube.
